The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

I took a few baby photos this afternoon. I had one free minute.
Renie here are my fluffy Buffies
They are in the big grow out pen with all the ones who have made it past culling so far.

I love this 7th month old but his comb is just to big. I am not letting him go though I may breed him to a small comb big girl

His brother has the better comb and wattles but he is a late bloomer. Letting him keep growing for a while and see how he turns out. He has just hit a growing spell again.

It is hot here today and they are panting and holding the wings out. It could be hotter though.

I thought this was pullet but have decided a late blooming black cockerel. Still so young. Going to be big though

These buffs are amazing!

We had a rough night, tornado warnings in our area, high winds. LGD took cover in the garage, we lost quite a few birds, unfortunately my best English Orp hen. She had the darkest eye and most beautiful head I've ever seen. Heartbreaking.
Blarneyeggs,
Feel free to PM me and I will give you some replacement chicks. Harry
Or eggs which ever you would prefer.

Okay guys, you have to straighten me out a little since I'm still new to chickens and orps. Just read a post on BYC about this person that has some lavender orps that were hatched from BLUE eggs. I'm going "WHAT?!!!". So can lavender orps lay blue eggs or did this person bought a orps/maybe EE mixed and not know it?

I would say a mixed breed. Or you have a very special Orpington :)

Hi. I have gold laced orps, chocolate orps , bantam jubilee orps and I just got a roo and hatching eggs that are spangled/mottled orps from my friend Louise ( kidcody). I love my roo. I named him William, after prince William

I think the original cross for project lavender American Orps was with a lavender EE. I may be wrong on this but maybe it was a gene throwback color for the egg. Maybe it was Aruacana instead of EE my memory fails me now since it naver has been a color of interest for me
