No offence taken by anyone !

The bird you have have pictured is a nice Orp, though young, and a bit lacking in body. You CAN see his hocks. He is not the excessively feathered bird of the type that is currently winning in England. He has a stiff main tail. That's good. His wings are tight. Also good. I can't see his head and comb, but if they are all right, he should show well at maturity, with a finished tail. I would like to see a bit more length and depth of body at maturity.

If you'll read both standards, you'll see exactly what I'm pointing out. Orps are a DUEL purpose bird. They must have a long enough body to lay well, and a deep enough keel, with wide breast, to carry meat.

Quote: Yes he was an amazing boy...he was about 8 months old there I no longer have this boy I sold him for $25
( BIG mistake) But I am greatful to have his son and daughters which I will be using in my breeding programs.

Same rooster as above...this is was the last picture I got of him he is a bit over 9 months here

This is the mother of the babies I have out of the above rooster that I also no longer have either I loaned her to the person I bought her from..he was going to use her to breed to one of his roosters and I would get some of their offspring plus her back at the end of the breeding season....she left here healthy and with in 2 weeks of this other person taking her back apparently "she got sick" and he culled her along with her sisster I also bought off of him and loaned back to him for breeding.

Their offspring is the only thing I have left of that line (3 pullets and 1 cockerel)

You are a nicer person than me. I would never have loaned her to anyone! From that photo she looks like she has a beautiful round body type.

Quote: Well it was a person I really trusted and I knew he had a clean flock we were over at his house alot and he took care of his chicken...he is just the type person that if a hen lays an odd egg he culls her. ( that is exaggerating a bit LOL but gets the point across) she did have a very good type and her daughters are looking alot like her!!
