The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Well it was a person I really trusted and I knew he had a clean flock we were over at his house alot and he took care of his chicken...he is just the type person that if a hen lays an odd egg he culls her. ( that is exaggerating a bit LOL but gets the point across) she did have a very good type and her daughters are looking alot like her!!
Your birds are really pretty

Here are a few pics from a really nice show in Pensacola in Dec 2012. About 16 or 17 large fowl Orps shown. I am not showing any of the Buffs that were there . They were some nice birds though.
Here is a few pics of the only black hen I carried. She was DQed for a stub. Glad I have my cataracts gone now.

This Cock won RV. Owned and shown by Charles Logan. He was gorgeous and I did sell him to Charles In Jan 2012. I was very proud of him

It was a very well put on show by the Panhandle Poultry club. I hope to make it again this year if I have anything worth showing. Don't know yet.

Yes he was an amazing boy...he was about 8 months old there I no longer have this boy I sold him for $25
( BIG mistake) But I am greatful to have his son and daughters which I will be using in my breeding programs.

Same rooster as above...this is was the last picture I got of him he is a bit over 9 months here

This is the mother of the babies I have out of the above rooster that I also no longer have either I loaned her to the person I bought her from..he was going to use her to breed to one of his roosters and I would get some of their offspring plus her back at the end of the breeding season....she left here healthy and with in 2 weeks of this other person taking her back apparently "she got sick" and he culled her along with her sisster I also bought off of him and loaned back to him for breeding.

Their offspring is the only thing I have left of that line (3 pullets and 1 cockerel)

What a shame to loose those nice birds.I can't believe that YOUR birds were culled without asking you. Hopefully a lesson learned. The good ones stay at home ! If you do loans, or other deals, for heaven's sake put it in writing.

No doubt a lesson learned!! I will NEVER do that agian...my birds are MY birds and they stay with me if anyone else wants birds like mine they can buy chicks or hatching eggs.

Yes they do look to be english...hard to tell from the pics though...but it looks like that blue roo either has mites and lice or he has been beat up by other roosters..looks like he is missing a ton of feathers of his back side.
