The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

I am definately not a breeder. Just a lover of chickens. I love the colors and personalities. I won't be selling anything as a pure breed. Too much stress, responsibility and pressure. Besides, I am way too much of a softie to cull the way that woud be necessary to produce quality breeding stock. This is a hobby. I love to share my chickens, sometimes getting a few dollars towards food but mostly I give them away to people that also love chickens.

I tried getting some pictures but they are in jail for now. Hard to get good pictures. I will post when I get some cross babies. I love surprises. I just hope I don't end up with all black chicks.

I was just using the chicken calculator and it looks like the chocolate to gold laced will be the best chicks.
Here are 3 but they are in quarantine.

Do English Orpington's ever lay a speckled egg? I'm trying to figure out who is laying which egg and if I have it right my English Orp has just started laying. The rest of my birds are hatchery stock so I am figuring that my English Orp is the last to start. I've just started getting very small light tan eggs with little white speckles. Could that be my English Orp?

Help I am starting a new flock of Orpington Hens. I am torn between Chocolate and Blue. I love them both and was wondering if I had chicks which ones are easier to sell? I have Buffs and love them. No orpington rooster yet and I want to get at least six hens.

I don't want to get into the mixed breed stuff. Getting some Orpington (Pure) if I can find them and the people on this thread will lead me in the right direction. My Buffs are pure. I want to add Chocolate, not from GGF however. Just not sure if the chicks will be easier to sell then getting Black Orpingtons. Are the Blue Orpingtons considered Pure? I know the splash are not. This will be an investment and I want to purchase good pure stock. Possible? If so Who has them?
