The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

I don't want to get into the mixed breed stuff.  Getting some Orpington (Pure) if I can find them and the people on this thread will lead me in the right direction.  My Buffs are pure. I want to add Chocolate, not from GGF however.  Just not sure if the chicks will be easier to sell then getting Black Orpingtons.  Are the Blue Orpingtons considered Pure?  I know the splash are not.  This will be an investment and I want to purchase good pure stock.  Possible?  If so Who has them?

why do you think Splash are inpure? Black/Blue/Splash are actually BBS Orpington. One pen with a mix of birds will throw a mix of the colors. Mine were pure Orpington.

The gal I am going to show with told me it wasn't recognized and I would have to Show a Blue, Black, Buff, etc. Not a splash? This isn't right?

Would someone give me a definition of a pure chicken? Easter Eggers are not a pure bred chicken, correct? But ameraucana and Araucana are? If I have a flock of different colored Orpington hens and roosters and the hens have chicks, are they all pure?

Wish I could. I haven't purchased any yet!!!!! Trying to get Breeders Input. Want to stick with the standard so I can show with a friend of mine. She has so much fun showing. I have a small flock or Buff hens. Just sold my Easter Egger Rooster shown in my avatar and a few of my B/Copper Maran hens.
Can you tell me what breeders mean when they call their chickens "Pure". I've asked others and haven't gotten an answer? I want to breed Orpingtons. Specifically Black Orpingtons and the blue splashed whites. If they are bred together, their chicks should be 100% Blue but of varying degrees of blue color. Do you know if it makes a difference which one is the Rooster in this kind of pairing? I would assume the Black would be the rooster but I'm not sure.

There is actually a chart floating around BYC to explain BBS. I now have Bantam Chocolate Orpingtons from Marc Sacre 100% English. It is time for new blood though.
