On the combs? How would it be dangerous?

Side sprigs are extra points on the side of a comb. Not dangerous, but a DQ at shows.

Sprig and spur was used. I was wondering how a comb had anything to do with spurs. I thought you were talking about spurs on the feet. All very confusing. My friend has a rooster with huge spurs on his feet that point toward the center instead of back. So I was thinking that was what you were talking about. Also when I googled side spur, that is what shwed up.

We have 3 Chocolate roosters and 3 hens with no side sprigs but we have had some chicks with them. So now to seperate and figure who is guilty.

Well one of your roosters is partially, it takes a copy of the gene from each parent bird to produce offspring with springs.

would love some uk opinions on these birds- I picked up some crele orps that a friend was selling - purchased from GFF, and several other sources. As far as the crele go I have looked at keiths orps, orpingtons galore, essex orps and they all seem different- my roo is very close to a few of the ones from UK but, would like to know how they stand and what can be done to improve the color on them.

juvenile about 3 months old.
