I have eggs for sale!

$65 for 10+ BBS English Orpington eggs

$55 for 10+ Black Split to Lavender 50% English Orpington eggs

$5 for one 72 hr. Heat Pack

They need to be shipped out by Monday or Tuesday and I will only ship to a select few warmer states: TN,TX, LA, MS, AL, GA, FL, SC, NC.

as long as your night temps are at or above 30 F. I can ship to you, if requested I can also add a heat pack in with your eggs

These eggs would have already been sold but it is just so cold and most of my orders come from people in more northern states.

If not sold sold by Monday these eggs will be going in our fridge and will be eaten.

You should copy and paste this to the 24-hour-auction thread! I bet you get some buyers no problem. You can do buy it now also

I posted this same question in the chocolate orpington thread, but decided to post here as well since so many experienced breeders participate in this thread. I have a beautiful LF English 8 month old chocolate pullet. Unfortunately, lost my LF chocolate roos. I have found a couple for sale, but the photos show what appears to me to be red leakage. Ideally, I would avoid these. I see two options: 1) buy chicks and cross my fingers I get a nice roo (and it kills me she would go to waste while I wait) or 2) buy a roo with leakage and after hatching some chicks and growing them out, select future breeders without this trait. What would you do? Is there another option I am not considering? Are you seeing red leakage often with this color? Thanks for any opinions!

I would ask the seller about the red in the photos as sometimes chocolate is a difficult color to photograph. I have not seen the red leakage in the imported LF only in the bantams and LF project orps (that came from the bantams) I think if you stay with the LF imported chocolates you should be OK. LF Imported Chocolate roos are difficult to find......

..... quite the reverse of most breeds.
Good luck!

Rockinpaints, I will definitely ask. If you have a moment and are interested, pm me your email and I will send you the picture so that you can see if it appears red to you. I do not want to publicly critique the sellers roo. Very nice seller and it is just a quick snapshot. I am still learning though and want to be responsible and educate myself to breed well.

You could always replace your male with a Black or Blue roo, too.

Your first gen would only produce Black or Blue offspring, with the males being split to Choc.

Breed one of these males back to his Chocolate mother and you'd be well on your way to hatching another visibly Chocolate rooster.

You'd probably also be improving type by outcrossing to a nice BBS line.
