Krista - we have toads all over the place here !! I love toads and turtles. We have a bunch of "toad houses" in the flowerbeds. I take clay flowerpots, turn them on their side, and bury half in the ground packing in dirt and leaves. I leave the top half out of the ground with a little bowl of water beside each one. The toads LOVE them, and all the Toad Houses are "No Vacancy" LOL. this particular frog has lived on my front porch for 3 years - it might be 4, I can't remember. I can go pick him up and carry him around and he doesn't even try to hop away anymore. The dogs don't bother him and he isn't afraid of the dogs. He is so cute. I'll be heartbroken when he leaves me.

Here is a picture of one of my "toad houses." Not the best picture and it has a piece of landscaping plastic on it.

We normally have a lot of toads and I have flowerpot houses for them too. I think the drought has taken a toll on them too.....so far I've only seen one of my big ones in a flower bed and no smaller ones.

This talk of toads is funny. This is the first year that I have ever seen a toad in our yard. A few years ago I brought some home from a friends place in the country, and the only one we ever saw afterwards was the huge one the lived in our basement.
