The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

I love those blacks, too!

My husband said if he didn't drag me out, the only place I would go is church and the grocery store. I am far happier just being with my critters, too.

Joy, they dissed buttermilk mash, too. But Skoche is still popping around.

Ditto for the black orps. Thats on my wish list for next year. They are big and sparkle , you can't beat that.
Wouldn't it be great to order chicks, just what you want ,all at once from one place. Like the big beautiful blackorps, and the deep blue egg laying pure breed ameracaunas, and the hugh striped Barred rocks. Now that would be a dream. I'd only want one dozen total baby day old chicks. Oh and I would only want hens. I like a beautiful laying group. Gloria Jean

I know, I know... these pictures are long over due.

All of the photos below are from last Tuesday when I got the chicks from Joy up until yesterday, today's pictures are still on my camera.
I'm working on the growth thread for the splash chick right now too! You can expect that to be up and running shortly.

They hardly move most days, they just plant it right next to the feeder and eat. Then sleep, then eat. Then sleep, then eat and then poop and then eat...

The camera is starting to scare them now, it's getting harder and harder to get group shots that aren't all blurred.

The chick on the left decided sleeping in it's water was a good idea...

There are tons more, I didn't want to add a couple pages to the thread with baby pictures though...

From now on I plan on being better about uploading, I promise!

This may be the wrong place to post this question and if so, I do apologise, I have enjoyed so much looking at the beautiful pictures and have a wish list started !!

My question is .....Are there any Barred Orpingtons in the States ? The pictures of those in England are gorgeous. How hard would it be to begin such a project ? Where would one start ?

Congratulations to those breeders here that have done such a good job with their programs....I hope to be one of those one day !

Jeremy - Thanks for the pictures. I'm going to go check out your "Watch me grow" page. They are getting big already. Course when you do nothing but eat and drink (like you said), you are going to grow pretty fast, huh?

Kathy - WOW. They have really grown. They look really, really good. I see a black pullet in there that looks wonderful. The little light blue pullet (2nd from the bottom) looks great. In the third picture up from the bottom??? Those two look absolutely fantastic. That cockerel, well, I'm liable to be wanting to buy him back from you, and the pullet in the photo with him looks fabulous too !! Be sure to keep updating these pictures as they grow...I really want to see these as they grow out.
