Looks like you are off to a really good start ")
It was funny, they would always "scatter" whenever people were around. Hannah (cochin) is fairly friendly and will come up to us. I get out the meal worms....everyone is my friend. Everytime I walked by after that they came running up to me. I sat on the ground with the camera and the bowl of meal worms in my lap....little monsters helped themselves to my lap to get at the mealworms. I have always thought it funny. they eat so fast....how do they even tast. And does a mealworm have flavor? they swallow it so fast. LOL.

Quote: What I find interesting is that he seems a tad bit smaller than the pullets. The black on (seen in the middle) is probably the larget of all of the 5. The splash would be the next largest. I have not lifted them up for awhile so it may just be fluff.

Given time, he'll likely catch up. Like they say, wait and see. I like his attitude. So cute!

I have the space so I will probably keep all my babies that I hatched out this year and winter them. Then pick through the next spring. Christina Korfus may be up in my area later this fall, she could help me too. I was wondering if he would "play catch up". They are so pretty....they are coming out of the scraggley and really fluffing out and are so pretty. I love orps.

eta: I forget my manners this early: Thank you so much.

I have babies at this age too. My husband tells me they are in their "ugly stage". LOL. He tells me they go from cute, to ugly (I say scraggley), to pretty. Love them all....nice photos.
Thank You ! I am hoping they will grow into their feet, you really can't tell from the pics but the buggers have really big feet, kinda funny looking right now

Good idea. They look wonderful at this funny age The K. will play catch up when he gets more feathers, some of the boys take forever to feather out. It's such fun watching the uglies go and the pretties come in! Keep them as long as you can.And don't forget to enjoy them!

4312 Wow Wee! On the lacing!!

I put my 7 week old Orps in with the big guys last night. They are holding their own. I'm going to check again shortly. We really played musical coops, and moved everyone around, separated some Roos who weren't getting along, and I figured it was a good time to integrate the chicks.

And yes, indeed, the Orps sit nicely on the big wheel seat and get paraded around the basement. I will have to take pics next time, normally I just shake my head and mutter under my breath.
