Matt of course you make the best Orp pics I know of. The birds look great too from Bantam to LF.
Kathy that girl is a lighter blue, the sun did fade just a tad in the pic. Her lacing is good though. I have a few really nice blacks, I need eggs. These blacks are just 6 months old though.
Renie I lived with dial up for years cause i had a old pc. Finally got a new one 3 yrs ago and got DSL I don't think i could stand dial up again.
Joy I just saw that you didn't get Finn today. Hope it works for tomorrow.
Kathy I am looking forward to seeing your pics.
I have a lighter blue male I hope to show in Jan. He looks good now. I have a younger nearly 5 month old cockerel that i think is going to turn out looking just like his father. That is my hope. I think his comb may be better.
Wow, the black girl is really a looker. . All your black girls look pretty. I think that black girl BAMA should produce some nice looking boys. Look at her tail
Kathy- they look GREAT- who is that gorgeous thing in the second picture? And the black Bama girl is lovely - yours are just enough older than mine to make me impatient!
My keyboard is very temperamental so i cant always reply as soon as i want!
They were all bred by me other than the buff male and the blue female.
The buff males colour is fairly poor (lemon hackles) he was bought in for use in a project not involving buffs so colour wasn't an issue. The blue female was bought in around 18 months ago, i haven't bred from her yet. I plan on using her this season.
I no longer have the black or crele bantams. The blacks are used for breeding blues which are my main passion and currently the only colour i am breeding and showing.
Unfortunately there are incredibly low numbers of people breeding and showing good quality large Orpingtons over here. There are no more than 4 people breeding large blues and blacks that are capable of competing for top honours at the big shows. Large whites have an even worse following, there are only a couple of people breeding and showing, but the birds are fairly poor quality. Large buffs are doing much better with relatively large numbers shown regularly and some very strong classes in the big shows. The bantams of the 4 colours all have increasing numbers of breeders which is positive. You guys now have some very good blues and blacks and the interest and breeders seem to be there. Hopefully the only way is up and maybe in years to come, we will be wanting to import birds from you!!!
Please disregard the balck laced blue brahmas trying to get all the attention in this shot, but here is a view of a couple of my buffs. Bred from UK imported birds here in Ireland
will post up more when I can get them, they are all currently hiding in the henhouse away from the snow and ice.
Matt we can only hope we can get some as good as yours look. Thanks for all your help. Keep pointing us in the right direction. I am going to send you a few pics to go over for me. I value your opinion.
