Joy will have babies in January!

I have silkie babies hatching today but haven't seen an orp egg in MONTHS! At least now I know that the National Orpington Strike may someday come to an end!

I'm actually going to be setting up a brooder today... believe it or not...

& here I swore to myself, "No chicks over the winter... no chicks over the winter..."

Jeremy - I'll hatch anytime...it does not matter a whit to me. I've had "empty nest" syndrome for waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long and can't wait to fire up the bator again. As I sit here looking at my empty brooder, I feel cold and empty inside. LOL. BTW, what are you going to hatch?

I'm not hatching, I'm just taking 2 day olds from someone who hatched near me. 1 Wheaten Marans & 1 Wheaten Penedesenca, I want to use them to create some olive egg laying birds by crossing them to my Ameraucanas.

I'm also having to sign a contract stating I will not "ask for, want, sneak into the brooder, etc. etc." any chicks/hatching eggs/birds until April of 2011 in order to get these two little ones!

It's worth it though.

Just checkin' in. Hope everyone is having a nice weekend, and a great holiday season.

Just candled a few more eggs .... still nothing here. I decided to leave the light on in the barn, so it has been on the past couple nights. See if that helps.
