The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

LOL...I love to hear them when they first start crowing. All three of my young lads have started crowing and it is a "crow-off" down at the coops every day, ALL day !!! We went out to sit with them today so they could come out and free range for a few hours and most of those 3 hours were spent with them taking turns trying to out-crow each other. Silly birds !!

How old is Edmund now? I know I've asked, but my memory is gone.

It is funny when they get going. When my blue boy "crowed" my Ameraucana roo made his alarmed noises and got all poofy and defensive.

Then he was crowing every 5 minutes...

Edmund and the blue boy are both 5 months and a couple days. It's odd to me that he hasn't tested his lungs yet, especially because he seems to be the most dominant of the two boys.

I guess they were "screened" in order to list on featherauction. It's still odd. I asked about the legbars just to see what kind of pricing there is- would honestly like to have some. I don't know anyone that has every bought any so I have no idea what to expect. Wonder if they can beat the going rate of $1000 a pair for jubilee Orps

Oh that kills me.

Absolutely brilliant! You can't buy that type of publicity!

Yup! Even so, with no feedback on the auction listee, I think I'll sit back and let somebody else be the guinea pig.

I haven't posted much on this thread, but I've been lurking! I finally got some good shots of my Orps today so thought I'd share. They are just over 5 months old.

I love the stink eye and then the fluffy butt in the last photo!

I also have some Lav Orps that I hope to work on with the Black birds above:
