Well - if anybody likes to read - you should read the HP series. Best books I've ever read in my life and I'm an old lady ! LOL. I agree, Jerry. It's sad to see it end - but what a heck of ride it has been. I hope you and your son enjoy the last movie. The theater was jam-packed and a lot of people were dressed up. The theater was filled with triumphant shouts and clapping a LOT !! It was really fun. I saw the other day where JK's wealth has surpassed the Queen !!

I HIGHLY suggest the Harry Potter series to those of you who haven't read the books. It really is an amazing story, I was very sad when I finished the final book. I started reading the series in middle school, I think in the 7th grade and I literally grew up with the books, that's very cool to me. When they started making the movies I was SO excited, every time a new one came out I would go see it with my mom. Read the books though first, the movies for the most part are true to the plot but they waiver occasionally.

Joy, it sounds like you enjoyed the movie then? I'm going to go see it Sunday evening after I finish work. I can hardly wait.

slybird353, your roo is very handsome. Where did you get your birds? Did you import them directly yourself?

Bill, if Crossroads wasn't so far away and I didn't have so many other things going on with life I would love to go. I wouldn't show my birds but I actually would love to see what the exhibition APA bred Orps look like in person. I've only seen hatchery quality Buffs and those birds couldn't hold a candle to my big English beauties.

It would be nice to see something of quality to compare them to.

If any of you have kindle, or even the kindle app for pc, there are some great old books for free at cornell U library and others.. It is so interesting to read from the perspectives a hundred years ago poultry breeding..you can even get some older versions of the standard for free -ebooks..One of the early breeders that worked with william cook tells how across the pond (england) they really wanted to put type above everything..so for long long time, they had much smaller birds than in US, he said that here in US, breeders might keep a smaller but high quality roo and breed to huge strapping hens and the birds kept getting bigger and bigger..lots of stuff passed down from a long time ago..very very interesting stuff..from how they used these these birds to rid orchards of pests with great deal of success..

from shell to showroom..great old book, did you know they used to feed certian things like cyanne(sp) to enhance buff color? book is worth every second of the free download , he even tells how what they called ""fakiers""means fakers could easily beat amatures and the amatures would actually have the better bird, and how they set good breeder way back by not eliminating problems but propogating them..they he turns around and sort of tells you how they do it including making an imperfect comb perfect ect...just a great story of the poultry world of the day..

hubbards poultry secrets, another great old book -free ebook..more on enhancing color in buffs and how they fed them with stuff we dont know much about today..some of these books have very detailed how to for color breeders like blue, lavander and how brown plays into it..I didnt read that part as I have enough troubles with flat black with green to dabble in color.gotta get my foundation set befor I paint it.

My husband does NOT read....but I got him to list to most of them on CD. He listened to them up until I think #5. Then he went and saw the movie. He was so upset by the changes he said he wasn't gonna listen to the others till after all the movies. Last summer I got my teenage son to read them.

In years past I have taken the kids to all of the movies, several midnight showings even. My husband is out of town, and he wanted me to take my son Jordan (14) to see Transformers. We went and I ended up having to leave 1/2 way through because of the 3 yr old wanting to run around the theater. I decided then that I was going to go by myself. At least to see it for the first time.

Katy and Sandy- I really enjoyed them. Do either of you get a chance to read? I find that since becoming a mother I have to be more selective in my reading, since my reading time is limited.
