The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Okay, tell me if I'm crazy.....

I've tracked down a farm in England doing the LF Chocolate English Orpington project. They are currently selling hatching eggs from the F5 generation birds.

I want to import the eggs or chicks or birds.

Is that crazy hard??

...and extremely expensive...

There are folks working on LF projects here in the US
Guess that'll be my only option right now. The one in the UK was further along on the project but told me they won't import. I read the thread and was prepared with all the stuff needing done, but it's pretty useless without someone on the other side of the water to help. Ah, well.....

Still looking for chocolate bantams.......anyone????

I've been begging poor kidcody for some of her lovely birds and intensely discussing a lavender orp project with WA-4Hpoultrymom, so I figured I'd spread the wealth

We want to start a flock of orps, and I love the look of the English Orps. Does ANYBODY have hatching eggs, chicks, breeding pairs/groups (the latter in WA or OR) in chocolate, jubilee, or some other color you can sell me on???? I'm clearing out my coops of pleasantly mixed breeds so I can keep a single breed in each. It would be wonderful to have a head start with pairs/groups or even chicks, but I'll resort to eggs if necessary!

Pretty, pretty please????

It is not that hard. I would be happy to assist you in importation. I have several breeders in the UK that will work with exporting. It is on the expensive side. Without getting too deep into the red tape and detail here... this is the breakdown - $ 4000 for a trio and approx $ 100 per egg. The approx on the egg is based on a 50% hatch rate. If you are interested - I will walk you through the process - no charge for that.

Yes there are LF Chocs from the 5th gen UK line here in the US........... yes they are in Georgia. :).

Regards,
Richard
