The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

20 weeks old pullets. I have a splash and blue that I think are nice, but not sure. Please let me know what you think. I'm not a breeder just an admirer and would like to know what I have. How is the lacing on the blue pullet? I have thick skin so tell me what you think.

Thanks aveca and deek. They are fluffy.
Anyone else have any comments on these girls. If they aren't "English" enough, let me know that at least. I just want to know more about my girls so I know how to proceed. I'm thick skinned so don't worry about that. I just want to know if they are worth breeding. If so, I need to find a nice boy for them. If not, it will be good to know now. I'll use them just as broodies and egg layers.
Thanks

Wouldn't that be great? Of course both sides would have to give a little. Not sure what APA would do about this, but Orps ARE an English breed.

OK Walt, time for you to weigh in now...........
a dream come true if we could bring it together..I think there would be opinions about asthetics and that would have to be worked out, they did it with aussies..queensland held out thier vote on inducting them into thier sop until they got a now reqired tighter feather..but what a great way to communicate ideas .I think a lot of brits are not liking the trend toward too much cohin look..the birds here are to my eye more classic thou they are import..

The fantastic birds that rockin paints just hatched, the lady who sent those imports said something interesting..she called it moon gazing, im not sure what she meant by that term..does she mean the severe ewe neck that we sometimes see..the moon gazing she said is caused by a vitamin deficiency ..but I need somone to explain moon gazing to me..I see some birds that neck configuration looks wrong, too low when I look at those old books I see a better balanced neck.it does not look like somone karate chopped the bird behind the neck, that never looked quite right to me...but that would be conformation not moon gazing right?

Walt would be qualified to pick. I know he has some nice birds well presented.
