I also love the crumpled combs on the hens. Seems like a lot of crested breeds have a "S" comb.

Has anyone noticed a correlation between chick color and crest development? So far my darkest and most prominently chipmunk striped girls are showing cresting at a younger age. Does chick color have any relevance to cresting, or is this just a coincidence with my chicks? I guess a few more hatches will help determine that. I haven't been able to discern any correlation with the boys yet.

I am sorry to say that today my cream legbar hen passed away due to the extreme heat wave we are experiencing right now.

Does ANYBODY know where I can buy a fully grown adult cream legbar hen or 2 for my rooster. I am afraid he will die of depression now because they have been raised together since they were little. I know it is a long shot because so many people are buying the CL right now but I need to try. If anyone has one please let me know

So sorry for your sad news....it has been so awfully hot....I live in Tift County. Have you tried Richard at Jordan Farms in Cairo??

Yes, Richard and I are good friends. He has orders that needs to be filled also so he can't spare a hen. I am on the hunt for a new hen even though I know it is pretty slim.
