I just hatched my first legbar girl! I think I have hatched about a dozen boys, so I was due. It is a darling white lady with yellow/white chipmunk striping. I think I will call her Popcorn,

cant see the spoiler.. any pics of the Females.. do they still have the headspot? weird that autosexing Rhodebar females lacks this trait all together even Rhodbar x Legbar chick cross

They look nothing like my guys when they were chicks. I'll have to get pictures to post on here.

if they dont look like Autosexing wildtype chicks(as Legbar should) then what are they?

Hi guys. I have a question. Has anyone heard about the Essex line??? I just received a pair of chicks that are supposedly from the Essex line. They are beautiful. They look nothing like my guys when they were chicks. I'll have to get pictures to post on here.

It will be so interesting to see your pictures. I haven't heard of the Essex line...does that mean Essex line of cream legbars? What is the source? Can't wait to see photos.

Apparently the person I got them from read the ad wrong but their coloring is beautiful. I'm waiting to hear from the actual breeder on where he got his birds. The female chick is very dark looking.

you are going to have some really light colors when they grow up--- I think that they lighten a bit as they age. Thanks for posting those chicks.... Watching them grow out will be really enjoyable!

Thank you! I am so tickled with them! They were a gift to me from my friend crazypetlady.

Vanilla Ice already has a noticeable crest which is pushing his comb to the side. I think I will put him with my pullets with minimal cresting, and these two pullets with one of the smaller-crested cockerels. I will probably use him with them first to see what the babies look like.
