this is my rooster Simon.

this is his girlfriend. Please tell me what you are think of them.

Here are some pictures of my 2 roosters. These guys came out of the same hatch. Their father died from a renal tumor about 3 months after they hatched.

The first one is Jasper. I know he still has too much chestnut but there is just something about this guy that I love. He has a very small crest but it is there. He also has a very nice personality.

And this is his scrappy brother Edward. He has the more aggressive personality and at one point someone had pulled out all the feathers on his neck. I am keeping him for the moment because I feel the need to keep a back up roo. Once I get another nice rooster, he will go somewhere.

They were hatched in October. Eggs that I incubated a month ago were not fertile. Their sisters started to lay 2 days ago. The pullet eggs were so tiny next to the hens.

I love Jasper even with the chestnut - he is so handsome; your names for them are great!

These are my chicks, hatched from ebay eggs! Im pretty sure they aren't purebred now. The girl has a beard and muffs and one boy has a flat comb-not single?

A beard?

My normal looking boy?

Nope none of those look pure to me, but hopefully you'll still get pretty birds and pretty blue eggs! Thanks for sharing!

Yep...look like Hybirds. They were possibly bred from Skylines, or Fenton Blues. I know the Skylines have the Auracauna blood which would introduce the flat comb and beard. I am not sure what Cream Legbars are crossed with to create the Fenton Blues. I did ask Fenton Farms last year, but I guess it is a trade secret because they beat around the bush, but would never tell me what breeds they used.

They probablly had someone sell them to them as Legbars too. Not a lot of people seem to know anything past the fact that the Cream Legbar has a crest, lays Blue eggs, and is auto-sexing so lots of people that have hybirds that meet that criterion think they have a Cream Legbar. There is a facebook group that I believe was started by Emily DeGrey in the UK that was formed so that peope would have a place to find "Correct" Cream Legbars and not just the Cotswold, Fenton, Columbine, Skyline or other mixes.
