Oh ok so breeding dark to dark will be ok I was thinking of offsetting the dark and light to get correctly colored birds so then maybe I'll just use my best correctly colored cockerel and breed him in both pens
that would be my advise....remember that on color light + dark doesn't necessarily = mid range

Would would likely wind up with some light, some dark and some in between

I'll just use my best cockerel and breed to all my pullets and hens I need to work on hackle and under color I feel though my birds are to big I'm I wrong?

A message to all the Plymouth Rock breeders and all that are interested in preserving the Plymouth Rock breed I would like to encourage you to join the Plymouth Rock Fanciers Club of America. You can mail membership dues to the information below.

These are the Buffs that Cindy has shown early in this thread as chicks. They are now 6 months old. (comments, critique and feedback greatly appreciated!)
Cockerel #60 is too light and has some positive white feathers in the wings. I need to weigh these birds again, because he looks a little wider than #63. They are wearing #11 bandettes, I'm going to have to order #12s as they are getting too tight.

#60 from the front

#63 His tail is coming in now and he's begun to dance for the girls

#63 from the front; this pic makes him look a little taller and thinner than he really is; he was stretching up a bit.

The two cockerels from above, with the pullets

Butterscotch- Cindy raised and spoiled this girl, she is the biggest of the 5 pullets

Pullet #61 is still my pick; she has the least fluff and smallest cushion of them all.

Love these buffs. Have not been able to find any hatching eggs. If anybody has or will have any available please let me know. Thanks.

These were from Tom Roebuck; Cindy hatched them and I ended up with 5 pullets and 2 cockerels; desertmarcy I think she got two pair. Tom may be closer to you than I am. I am not NPIP and don't know if I will go there or not.

Well I think I came here awhile back looking for hatching eggs. I don't think I ever got a response and I was upset. But tonight while at work I read the last 141 posts and see why I got no response. After reading what all ya'll have done and how your keeping track and how much work ya'll are doing I can see why I didn't get a response. I give ya'll props that's a lot of work you are doing and I like how you broke down what your doing and how your keeping track when someone cant remember who asked all the questions. I now see why people will ask for 40+ for hatching eggs. Sadly till I win the loto i'll stick with my hatchery chickens lol. Well the person I bought them from got them from hatchery. Hope I have an easy day tomorrow at work so I can start at the start of thread and read it all.

Anyways keep up the work i'll have to follow this more.
