I wouldn't have it any other way. :hugs
How has your day been?

My day... didn't go as planned, but that's how it goes at times. I did confirm 12 of the GC Marans hatching eggs to be picked up on Wednesday. :yesss:
They didn't have any pullets or chicks available. I was hoping to get a head start, but whatever. ;)

This fela is available. :he
He's A'pollo's brother. :he:he

How's your little fella doing this evening?
That's such a cute little rooster! :love

Alright! We're gonna work on him soon. Not today I need to head back. BF is having trouble with his sick daughter so looks like we're not gonna get any sleep tonight. I'm gonna watch some videos of ducks & bumble foot, seeing how others do surgery and treat them. I'll look on different forums and what not.
I hope everyone is doing well this morning. A sick child can make for a looking night. I hope you where able to get some rest.

Good mornin y'all!

Of course as soon as I commit to the GC Marans eggs, I get an unexpected email telling me there are BB Marans eggs available. Not just that, but around $1.20 chapter per egg!

Not often do I say this, but it's a good thing I'm now broke. All that being said, I'm still grateful for being able to do what I do. I enjoy the hunt for breeds, I enjoy networking, and I love my birds.

So I think I was scammed in regards to the quality of the Araucana I bought. This really pissess me off. I paid for private breed quality, but I'm pretty sure I got hatchery birds... can anyone else see the pink paint in the speckles? I know it's not the best picture, but there are baby pink marks. Like what's left from a sexing stamp from a hatchery. I paid $25 each for these birds... another $35 I could have just ordered my own hatchet birds and more than just 2... With the spekeling I didn't see it till I got home and saw it in the sun... I know a friend of this breeder and she legitly breeds Araucana, has for years, but even she was thrown off & confused by the pink spots

I didn't know they marked them on their backs Chris I thought just a spot on the head?
But I only bought chicks once from Purely Poultry.
all females.

So yesterday while cleaning the coops I let my little OEGB out for some sun which we rarely get since we're on the north side of the mt. But as soon as he walked out the cochin bantam roo went after him. I do believe they will kill him if I let them all together. So as beautiful as these 2 boys are they are going for food this afternoon. If Adam is still alive when I open the doors this morning. He's in a crate inside the coop but he must have had a huge whooping Thursday because he still isn't acting normal. His comb is purple now because of blue kote but he must be extremely sore. I hope it's just he's sore. No other wounds on him beside his face and comb .

Sure hope everyone has a great day.

That little roo is adorable Chris. How do you coop all your birds? Are you still building?

Sorry to hear about the fellas not getting along Patti. Hopefully Adam is doing okay and just recuperating.

The pink marks are on the back of the head. The picture was a strange angle, and then I cropped it. Same place cackle placed them though. :(

I currently have the shack which is 18'x24' where most of the flock lives. The bantams are in a pin in the garage. Then I have 3 quarantine/grow out pin, plus the parrot cage/coop. Oh there's the quail pin too. After 6 structures, I think I'm done. Lol, until next week when plans change again. ;)

I'm still building the the feeding station though. I've been busy with family and not had a chance to get it finished. Speaking of which, you mentioned using a goat feeder to keep ducks out. If you get a chance, would you mind taking a picture of it. When I do a Google search I get quite confused on how it would hold bird feed, at least the pictures I'm seeing.
