my first Pug was so smart it was scary! she knew lots of human words and could "howl" out things that sounded just "I love you", "where were you" and her own name, minus the "C" her name was Clara, and she could howl "Lara!" she knew all her toys by name, and she had over a dozen...
she adored my friends daughter so she would go nuts at the mere mention of her name... same with another friends dog, Zeefus... if you said "Zeefus!" omg... she would howl and howl...
my next Pug was a dum-dum... she didn't make a peep, no matter how hard I trained her to "speak"
my current Pug, is inbetween the 2. not too smart, but not dumb by a long shot. she can spell
R-I-D-E, and stars forbid you say "GO"... because "go" goes with R-I-D-E....

... I don't own flip flops... i can't walk very well without a wide soled boot with ankle support, so walking barefoot is hard and flimsy shoes, especially flip flops make me look like the town drunk...

I want to go to the show, it's a bit of a drive to Syracuse, but it's not too far really, but, I'm on call for the PO on Sundays for the Express Route. During the summer, I get a few days off, but throughout the rest of the year... I usually work. Starting in March, sometimes February... the chicks start arriving, that is my all time fav! a car full of Peeping Fluffies! This year, I plan to spread the word about byc.com ~ maybe I'll meet fellow bycer's... which would be very cool

so......anyone who lives in the "Albany District" in NY (counties include but aren't limited to: Albany, Saratoga, Columbia, Renssaelear (sp), Schoharie, Schenedtedy...) who is planning on ordering chicks this Spring... the hatches from Friday, are shipped on Saturday and arrive on Sunday ~ which means you have a 50% chance of meeting lil' ole me... (there is one other carrier...) I was thinking of putting up an article here with the best tips on getting your orders without any delays... cuz if your order comes on Sunday... and we can't find you... (PO Box, or no phone #'s....) the chances of all the chicks surviving til Monday is slim...
I guess you just have smart chickens ..
On call does that mean you have to go into the post office or you can stay home ..& wait for a call ?

...so you are near Albany ..It would be a bit of a drive ...I am 20 min from Syracuse so it is easy for me to go to the fair grounds

When my Mom teaches her online class and I do school by myself (I'm homeschooled) sometimes I "accidentally" leave the front door open, and I see little chicken heads peak in!!! Sometimes I just bring them in while holding them, or sometimes I sit in the doorway and they look in. :) I get cute pics. :)

Show us some please !

I'm 45 minutes SW of Albany...
I work a route Monday - Saturday... in southern Schoharie county. on Sundays and holidays, I work the Express Route from the Albany district, which is quite geographically vast... I've put 300 miles on in one day ~ easy to do during chick season... so... i'm on call if I'm not scheduled, there are no "days off" guaranteed with this extra job. usually i get a text message fairly early to let me know if i'm needed or not...or if I don't hear, I have to call by 8:40am. i don't mind... it's worth hanging in all year for chick season!
