Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

I've got 4 silver appleyards coming next Friday and I'm REALLY hoping nothing goes wrong with those. But my main stress is the geese because I've never done them before. So right there with ya, and that protective bubble idea that you have. LOL.

haha
i can't imagine doing geese
i hope yours do good.

ill be much happier when i can leave this work to the chickens, maybe a momma duck.
once the warmer weather hits i prolly wont have the incubator running.... AS MUCH
haha
ill prolly still have in a batch a month

I love how you added "AS MUCH". LOL. I'd love to have a duck decide to set. We'll see. I don't have much faith in them right now.

Out at the barn right now so can't write long, but did not have a good morning with eggs. I had the 1 explode inside the incubator with the duck and geese eggs. So after I cleaned out all up I decided to move some eggs to the incubator with the chicken eggs. Well I dropped 1 of the eggs so there was duck all over my floor. It was 1 of my Caguaga ducks which had a heart and some veining. Then I went back to the duck incubator and it still smelled nasty. So I started candling and smelling eggs. I found 1 egg that was really really dark. I didn't see any movement in it, so I decided to pull it out. It was 1 of my welsh harlequin eggs. I opened it up and it was nasty inside. It look like the baby had tried to turn upside down the head was down at the pointy end of the egg. Well its time to leave the barn I'll write back when I get home. Bye for now.

I'm so glad I pipped for it. Totally shrink wrapped. No Way it would have been able to pip on it's own. Still has vessels to absorb. And get this... It looks BLACK.

Posting pics now.
