I sure hope so. Actually right now I just hope it makes it. :)

QJ, he was perfectly fine until yesterday early afternoon. Then, all of a sudden, his head was tilted and it was especially obvious when he drank water because instead of the head going straight back and up, it was turned to the right. Today his head is more straight when drinking, but still holds it at a tilt.

At the risk of sounding stupid... Is it possible he was stepped on wrong and pulled a muscle?

I took the duckling out and put him in the brooder. He's moving around ok and was bothering everyone else. I have 6 pipped now, and I'm not sure if the last one will. He's going to have to pip at the wrong end I think. I candled and could see no movement at all, so I looked at the little end and think I saw a beak moving around down there.

Is there anything I can do? I hope it can at least manage to pip down there so I can help it.

Oh man. There's a fun scenario. Can you pip the top and see if you can find his beak? Even if it's at the other end you would get some air in there.

It can't hurt anything. He's nowhere close to the air cell. I thought he was dead but could see veins easy because he's pushed all the way down at the other end instead of the air cell where he should be. His is the egg with the normal air cell too. All my pippers so far have been from broken air cell eggs, the quitters have all been the ones with good air cells which I find very odd. I'm really thinking I should have laid all of them but the ones with the worst air cells on their sides the whole time. I just figured it would be easier than if I had some up and some down.

So then he's alive right?
