Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Utah: yay for the duck pen!! My hubby's in the man cave right now in a super good mood. (it's Friday).
I should go hit him up for a new duck pen. Or tell him about the Sebbies. LOL!!

My choc that looks black with yellow. (???) is halfway out and exhausted. She just sitting there. Looks like the yolk is absorbed. I wish she'd fluff up so I can see what she is.

Okay, I did not even try to get through all of those posts. Here's what I got

SM - all your babies are dead? That's horrible, how long have they been in there? I can't believe all of them are dead

QJ - I hope your little one makes it, What was humidity at? Oh and

it turns out to be choc.

Utah - hope your ducky is okay, never had a wry neck duckling before so I'm no help.

Celtic - That's a lot of eggs

I got my incubator all scrubbed up and clean from the duck hatching. I just got done setting 5 1/2 dozen chicken eggs in it. Most are splash bantam Cochin's (I'm checking fertility and some of the eggs are a bit old to be setting, but I'll just throw out what doesn't start making after 5 days) There are 5 Amerecauna eggs (checking fertility on those since she just started laying) the Amerecaunas eggs if fertile will be from my marans rooster so hopefully I can hatch some olive eggers

and then I have 7 eggs from my Australorp hens crossed with my cuckoo marans rooster since I sold the hens I decided to keep back a few eggs to hatch.

The arctic air is here

so I'm going to start a project. I just bought the biggest ice cooler they make at walmart so I can make another incubator. Got all the parts gathered and just have to get started with it.

I decided to try and get pictures but I couldn't get them to show up. They were such a mess. So I took out 2 of them and when I got them in the kitchen you could tell just by looking at the color of the egg shell that they were gonners. So I put each in a plastic bag and broke the air cell to get in to see what was going on. They were nasty nasty nasty. Oh they were dead. Not fully formed but they had a head and beak. but I saw no legs at all.
