I keep locking in my hatcher looking for babies.. All 16 ducks have pip there air cells, the 11 turkeys are moving up but still have not pip there air cells, all 6 lavender orpingtons have pip there's and my 11 Japanese bantams are moving but not pip there's

I can't wait and it driving me nuts

Me either..... they are very pretty though. I read that they will be all white by 8 years old just a second ago...... I feel so dumb for thinking they were Ancona's...... I PM'ed CG asking if she would have hatching eggs or ducklings from her super spotted Anconas

well if the 250w is prone to explode i will not be using it long atall.

i will switch to a normal bulb and see if it can keep them warm enough .
now this makes me nervous.

I use 100 watt bulbs with reflectors. I make duck baby waterers out of used milk jugs, with small little windows that their heads only will fit through. Be sure to make the "windows" low enough they can reach in. Now, they won't make as bad of a mess, but it'll still be pretty bad. Sometimes I put oldl rimmed cookies sheet under the jug, and a big "drip patio" to keep them from mucking everything else up so bad.

Oh no don't fill stupid first time I seen I got in to a fight about them not being purebred when I was going to buy some black east indies haha boy was I wrong and did I fill stupid.

Update: I checked the egg with the stain and it was dead.

To me, it looks like it suffocated when it was unable to external pip the shell. It was fully formed, looked beautiful and in proper hatching position.

So... that leaves 3 duckies hatched, 2 zipping, 1 dead, and 6 that have not external pipped yet but are still trying. And for the goosies, Celtic's 4 eggs and 1 of the 2 Ebay eggs have shadows and are rocking. The other Ebay egg is not far behind.

My ducks are so funny! All this rain & they are just crazy ~ forget about playing in the clean water... NOPE they go for the biggest muddiest puddle and it is almost like they are part pig!
