Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Update: I checked the egg with the stain and it was dead.

To me, it looks like it suffocated when it was unable to external pip the shell. It was fully formed, looked beautiful and in proper hatching position.

So... that leaves 3 duckies hatched, 2 zipping, 1 dead, and 6 that have not external pipped yet but are still trying. And for the goosies, Celtic's 4 eggs and 1 of the 2 Ebay eggs have shadows and are rocking. The other Ebay egg is not far behind.

Happy Happy Joy Joy for the duckies that are here! Cute pics too, hon! Hows the baby??? (The human baby)

I had Cayugas for a year, but sold them. I didn't know theys turn into dalmatioin ducks. Now I've got to order some Cayuga eggs. I thought they were Anconas, but wondered why they were so patchy like a dalmation! Learn something new everyday I guess.

The pics look great. I see you have one white with all your browns! Did your egg look different? (kinda grey?)

My browns go in lockdown Friday night. I'm warming up the hatcher now. I wonder if the quail would like a stuffed animals like Utahs duckies??

Thanks guys. I am keeping a close eye on two other eggs that were working hard all day yesterday but not obvious sign of pip yet. So far, they are still going. The last four were further behind in development, so I was already expecting them to not pip with the others. In the meantime, I have my new ducky #3 (hubby's favorite so far) to feel gushy over:

Actually, my lone little baby quail sleeps with a care bear.

He's just a baby in the pic, but he's like 4 weeks and still sleeping with it.
