Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Good advice celtic. I had a lav orp egg like this, and had to help him pip, he was acting the same way your ducky is. and he hatched fine :D

The discoloration is inside not n the shell. Sry my phone is actin up.
Celtic what if the duckling hasnT internally pipped yet
??

And qj. At this point men suck,
Im at y wits end

What if it has and you can not tell? Better to help and look at this point, than to wonder what if and then have regrets. Then again when did this egg start trying to internally pip? What day are they on, what species?

Hey guys!!

Here's my day 29 morning update. BYC #2 has externally pipped... the crack is more advanced than the classic tented dimple look of a duck's pip. Looks like the beginning of zipping!! The rest of the eggs are still rocking... but I cannot see pips yet.

I'm having a bit of an anxiety attack at the moment, though, as I may have overcooked them. When I went to bed at midnight, the temp was 99. Hubby checked it at 2:30am. Still 99. Checked it at 7:45am, it was 102!! I quickly turned off heater, opened lid to allow heat to escape, added a bowl of water to help re-boost humidity back 70%. Then watched carefully. All eggs are still moving. Hope I didn't kill anyone!

ETA: #3 has just externally pipped!

CG, It won't hurt your egg to make an air hole!! And if it is trying to pip on the back side of egg, it may not be turned properly for hatching, and will need your help.

for your baby!

So sorry CG that you are having some worry about your eggs. follow what Celtic says, she is wise as can be. I wish I would have had her on when I opened my eggs up.

In ducky land news.... all 6 new babies (including the "one who lived") are doing GREAT!! Plus, my cayuga & ancona eggs are en route to my place!!
