Ok out of 18 eggs, I have 15 live babies!!!! 3 were totatlly shrunk wrapped. Just candeling you could see it, But 15 out 18

CG: X2 . And I don't know why that darkness happens. I've noticed on mine there is discoloration where they are pecking at the shell. It's like a light brown, and it's always where they're beak is. Could that be it?

Sometimes mine get dark when they have moved into the air cell, could that be it? And like QJ, I see little dark spots where they are trying to pip too.

Julie- You think I could put the light sussex outside? They're fully featherd except for their heads.
They are HUGE . Probably 4 times the size of the other chicks. HUGE I tell ya!

I really like the poult. I am considering keeping my turkey, she makes such a good watch dog for everyone else. She's always the first with her weird hawk warning call whistle. She also herds the occasional stray chicken back home. I'm just leery of getting a tom for her, and I feel bad for her being a lonely only.

My ducklings haven't quite feathered all the way in and they've been outside for a week. My silkies were only 6 weeks old or so when I put them out last December, and that winter was COLD. Put them out just during the day for awhile if you are worried, I usually do that a week or so before moving them out for good.
