That was my original plan.. but they're outside now. And they are HUGE! I need to take a pic.QJ- I'd try putting her with the appleyards. By the time she's a week or 2 she should be caught up and as big as, if not bigger than them.
Iain- I use the shelf liner stuff the first week, shavings after that. I just put an inch or so, then add another inch every few hours and change it at night. I want to try the wood pellets though.

I'm going for pellets too. I'm so sick of shavings in their water. Do they eat the pellets though? Hubby was asking.
Saw someone posted yesterday asking about duck eggs and weight loss during incubation. Would be a good project to weigh and record weights and hatch outcome on ducks. I haven't seen a detailed record done on ducks like Pete did on Geese.
they will pick at them but not eat them. i think they must taste funny.
and the equine fresh smells soo good.
not like a brooder. it smells like fresh wood.
oh and the cat ball is a big hit. i bet fiona will love one if you get her one
