Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

One still sticks a little out to the side, but she is walking on it fine and getting better the more she moves around. Yesterday she wouldn't walk or lift her head, both were just sticking out to the side all stiff. If yours is already moving around I'd put her with her brothers for some encouragment and just keep an eye on her. They seem to pop out of it on their own with time.

well shes not completely dry yet. i think i will leave her in there a few more hours just so she wont end up at the bottom of a ducky pile or something.
but i may just do that tonight. and hope she pulls out of it

I'm sure he'll be fine. Looks pretty close to fine to me. Just wee and weak and inexperienced. He probobly used the side he likes for turning himself. Doesn't get that their are two of those yet. LOL

Hello Everyone! It's been a few days since I've had a chance to catch up on the forum. My mallard egg was overdue to hatch by five days. He was continuesly pecking and peeping without any indications of breaking the shell. I was so worried about my little peep. I stayed in my office for the last few days hoping there would be some kind of new development. I was updating his status on facebook when I began to hear loud peeping and crunchy noises!! I looked down at his egg and watched a piece of egg shell break off!! He zippered through his egg in less than ten minutes!!! It was the most amazing thing that I have ever seen!!! This is the most wonderful day. He has been running around like crazy and is full of energy:) He has taken a few naps:) I just uploaded a couple of his pictures. The fist one is actually of my pet hens, Lucy, Ethel, and Madison. I clicked on the wrong photo:) The other three are right after the hatch:) Happy Birthday Shamus!!

Julie, they are so adorable!! I hope you don't mind but I just borrowed your CareBear idea:) I just happened to have on sitting right above my day old mallard's living quarters! "Shamus" is my only duckling so far. I put the bear in his house and he loves it!! He's already curled up with it. Thanks for the great idea:)

Here are the 4 fridge ducklings.
