Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

ok, i put a small hole in the egg that has been internally pipped for over 48 hours, put a little antibiotic ointment around the hole and misted the whole lot with warm water to get humidity back up, membrane looked good from what i could see and he chirped when i picked him up...i am at a total loss on whether or not i should poke at the rest they don't seem to be making any progress but when i candled the first ones through the the membrane they don't seem distresses just hanging out

#1 has a dime sized hole in his air cell now, membrane looked white but not dry, #2 is peeping but is getting a safety hole in the morning if he doesn't pip tonight... #3 and #4 have extenally pipped...5 thru 8 are scritching and peeping and 9 thru 11 just lay there, i'm scared to candle and check them. i also have #1 nestled in a wet paper towel in the incubator...he looks yellow from what i can see. i would be more excited but i'm just worn out...this is kinda like having your own children!...except it doesn't hurt....lol

I've got a weird happening to report. On April 30th, I took eggs from a broody goose, thinking the eggs were goners since an egg had exploded in the nest and she had been sitting around 45 days.

Tonight I have a pip. Probably right on time, but early to me.
