Thanks for your input I will hold it then. Just didn't want it to imprint on me and then not accept its siblings. I love this little guy!

Thanks! I have about 4 or 5 more that are on their way because of this one's activity. I feel bad for the little guy because he's all alone. but he's doing good
I am in love with his color. It will be interesting to try to figure out who his parents are since they are all mixes. My question is, is should I just keep him where he can see me or should I hold him? He cries because he can't get to me but with other ducklings on the way I'd hate for him to bond to me and then not bond with his duckling siblings.

He is beautiful, and I don't think it will matter if you cuddle this little one, but if you don't think you should give it a stuffed animal and a mirror if you have one that's edges are covered . Actually it is already bonded to you because it has seen you first. Your now it's mama.

Cute! Congrats on your first hatchling. Have a blast with them, they will not stay bonded to the point of not behaving like a duck. Once they are exposed to the other ducks they will gradually if not immediately become one of them.

How is Holy One doing? Has anything changed?

Thanks guys... I caught a troublesome skunk just now in a trap and am dealing with that. I will give an update when I come back in.

That's just what I need to hear. I was a little worried that with him being alone he won't take to his siblings. The holy one hasn't changed. It's still alive but no further progress. I'm thinking it should be ready to hatch soon. I just wish I knew what day it was on.

I wish I didn't have to work a sleep awake shift tonight or I would deff cuddle him a bunch. But I don't want him peeping to me all night when I won't even be here. I don't think I have a stuffed animal but will check. I love being the mama
