Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

They all hatched a week early. I ended up with a Pekin, Welsh Harlequin, a black Swede, 1 Cayuga, a blue fawn mallard and a roeon/mallard mix.

Are these from the eggs you got from me?
Any pictures?

I will be a couple days behind you with 24 + Anconas!

Thank you : )
I've got another 44 ducks eggs I just put in the incubator yesterday. All Ancona eggs! I can't wait for the little spotted fuzzy butts to hatch! 28 days can seem like SO LONG.....

So I definitely hear taps, not clicks. I hear a few taps or taptaps... seems to be with the rocking... then quiet for a few minutes... like the duckies are resting. Repeat again. New bator is stabilizing quickly! Can't wait to candle and move them.

Should I leave them "x" side up (the position they are in now) when I move them to new bator??

That's them breathing.

You'll hear peeping once they have their breathing all figured out. Then you'll hear actual tapping, as they are trying to pip.
Forgot to add, at first just their beak will be through the air sack. When they get closer to trying to external pip they will move further into the air cell. The whole egg might all of a sudden turn dark, and you can see their shadow with a good flashlight at that point through the incubator window. So don't freak out if your eggs get dark! No one told me, lol. I thought mine had died!

I bet. If only they didn't have so many feathers...You want to come pluck my drake for me? He needs a new home, and there's a lovely spot in my freezer.
Ok, I'm done posting for a minute, too scared I'll take SM's post!
BTW- Have you ever tried squab? I'm thinking I have tons of room in the top of my covered run, since it's the frame for a carport. I can make my chickens roost inside, and make the top part into a pigeon loft maybe. Or at least part of it.
