They take forever. And they drag out each step too.

im noticing this.

2 days till actual lockdown.
and exaclty 7 till my gosling ship out!!!!!

Julie, we have a hen who laid double yolkers for her first year who was a fridge egg. She was also carried by one small child while still an egg and shaken, then put in the fridge and then the incubator. She is still with us, and still laying nice large single yolk eggs now.

Hello everybody. Congrats to all with hatches. The babies look so CUTE. I can't wait to have a good hatch. I have 10 with their little beaks trying to pip. I also candled all of my pekin eggs tonight, I set them Sunday, and I already have 23 hearts out of 31 eggs!!! Hope they just keep going.

Darn it! I just saw the listing for eggs from aurora and got excited to bid... then saw Celtic's name as a bidder. Celtic, how bad do you want those eggs??

They will not hatch on the 28th day. The 28th day is when they start to hatch. It will most likely take 2 days, (although it can sometimes take up to 4 days). I started hatching eggs last year and expected it to hatch within 24 hrs. I expected it to hatch on a monday, but it didn't. I went to bed about 10:00 tuesday night. I looked at it a few hours before, and it had just pipped. She hatched at 3:00 am that next morning.
