I haven't raised peafowl, but the last place I lived there was a water drainage in the backyard and I had a bird feeder out by it for the itsy bitsy little birds, then slightly larger songbirds came, then ring neck doves, then blue jays, then a rat (it was one giant rat), then a raccoon, and finally peafowl came to eat out of the bird feeder.
Marty, Shannon clarified... I sold my production Toulouse pair, but I still have all 8 dewlaps and Chicory (Erin Toulouse)... And my free range Africans.

Lucy who i adore with all of her deep curls
Pandora, another curly Sebbie (for any who may not know, curly or smooth is in reference to their chest feathers only)
oh and warning/advice/FYI, watermark your photos you share online. Never know where they might end up otherwise. Have had many a BYC member with photos stolen to use in ebay ads and on websites. Even one hatchery (more like middle man broker) took BYC member photos in the past.
Well i took the duckling to the wildlife care center and they said it was a wild mallard duckling so they kept it and will release it when it is ready. I miss the little cutie pie already and I only had it less than 24 hours but it is for the best. Why do ducklings have to be soooo cute.

I would have kept it. lol. Love the little mallards. Should have some hatching soon. Tonight would be nice actually. I was thinking about it, but I only have muscovies right now unless my two runner eggs hatch.
Poor baby. She's still pretty though. Those Muscovy are growing on me. (darn it!) I will have to get some new photos of my juvenile silver(?) drake he is really pretty too, I decided to keep him just in case. Poor Mr Worf still needs to molt, he may have a problem with his oil gland... I am going to have to read up on the treatment of clogged oil glands, he is just so ratty looking.
Marty, sorry about the accident! I called the sheriff on a few teenagers target shooting into the brush today and it took an hour to get a phone call back. Then, teenagers started firing off rounds fast enough to sound like fireworks and sheriff got a call from other neighbor about fireworks. They showed up within 15 minutes. Guess next time I will call in a report of fireworks instead.
I hear ya about hatching. I do not miss my bat ors being on! I am loving watching my goslings grow up into beautiful birds.
I can always get my super cuteness baby duck fix from pics like the ones Quackers just posted.
Out of 6 vws, only two are still intact. (He lost about 43 cars) The others are hardly going to have a useful part on them. Told DH I'd have to make them into bird houses now, who on earth would want to repair them?!
