Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

I haven't raised peafowl, but the last place I lived there was a water drainage in the backyard and I had a bird feeder out by it for the itsy bitsy little birds, then slightly larger songbirds came, then ring neck doves, then blue jays, then a rat (it was one giant rat), then a raccoon, and finally peafowl came to eat out of the bird feeder.
Aww

. That would be quite the side! All my bird feeders attract are squirrels

Marty, Shannon clarified... I sold my production Toulouse pair, but I still have all 8 dewlaps and Chicory (Erin Toulouse)... And my free range Africans.
QJ, love the pics! Fiona is striking. Can't believe how big your pup is getting!
I need to get pics of the Cayuga. Can't believe how tame they are still!

I can't believe how big your Lap Guard Dog is! Bassett ~ HUGE fan of the name! GO Beaker!
WHat are you talking about? You're so weird.

lovely pictures all. Iain Barley is looking very round (in a good way). Marty you MUST share more pictures more often please. Dutch so sorry the temps have burnt everything to a crisp, hope you and the birds can stay cool.

Had to get some pictures of the goats today, so took a few ducks ect too.

new buckling

Some of the Silver Appleyards

Dahlilah because she is stunning if i do say so myself

Visitors

Lucy who i adore with all of her deep curls

Pandora, another curly Sebbie (for any who may not know, curly or smooth is in reference to their chest feathers only)

oh and warning/advice/FYI, watermark your photos you share online. Never know where they might end up otherwise. Have had many a BYC member with photos stolen to use in ebay ads and on websites. Even one hatchery (more like middle man broker) took BYC member photos in the past.
Delilah is Fiona's MOMMY!!!
Well i took the duckling to the wildlife care center and they said it was a wild mallard duckling so they kept it and will release it when it is ready. I miss the little cutie pie already and I only had it less than 24 hours but it is for the best. Why do ducklings have to be soooo cute.

I would have kept it. lol. Love the little mallards. Should have some hatching soon. Tonight would be nice actually.
It seems like late season hatching gets worse and worse. After my two little ducks got here, I unplugged all three incubators, and the hatcher.

x2! My hatches have sucked and they're MY eggs!
Jadzia's eye is still cloudy. I read on one of the emergency threads about veterycin eye ointment so I am going to try that and see if it helps.

Poor baby. She's still pretty though. Those Muscovy are growing on me. (darn it!)

I was thinking about it, but I only have muscovies right now unless my two runner eggs hatch.

I will have to get some new photos of my juvenile silver(?) drake he is really pretty too, I decided to keep him just in case. Poor Mr Worf still needs to molt, he may have a problem with his oil gland... I am going to have to read up on the treatment of clogged oil glands, he is just so ratty looking.

Marty, sorry about the accident! I called the sheriff on a few teenagers target shooting into the brush today and it took an hour to get a phone call back. Then, teenagers started firing off rounds fast enough to sound like fireworks and sheriff got a call from other neighbor about fireworks. They showed up within 15 minutes. Guess next time I will call in a report of fireworks instead.

I hear ya about hatching. I do not miss my bat ors being on! I am loving watching my goslings grow up into beautiful birds.

I can always get my super cuteness baby duck fix from pics like the ones Quackers just posted.

Triplell, so sorry!!

Our pens are too big for us to cover with netting with out breaking the bank. Just have to figure something out I guess.

You need some Geese in there!

I hate selling on craigslist
th.gif
. I spend 2 hours emailing back and forth for a moron to actually read the ad and realize he doesn't want the breeds I have
somad.gif
I know ~ like we have nothing better to do than answer questions that are already answered in the ad ! Or get emails about different breeds etc.

Applewoods...

Just a quick snap. I worry that they're both boys.
They look yummy, I mean Magnificent !

Out of 6 vws, only two are still intact. (He lost about 43 cars) The others are hardly going to have a useful part on them. Told DH I'd have to make them into bird houses now, who on earth would want to repair them?!

That BITES! Did you already complete the sale & have titles?

I need to get pics of the Cayuga. Can't believe how tame they are still!
WHat are you talking about? You're so weird.
Yes pics please !
Weird? Would you rather me dull?

I sold this beauty off with a hen, if only he had been a she.
What kind are they Wulf? I love the big eyes!
Here is my sweet white juvenile drake with blue eyes. I need to sell him too so he doesn't become dinner.
He could have a temporary home with me
