TSA wants to double security fee

I have a question.. How many planes world wide have been hijacked sense 9/11? How many were hijacked world wide in the 11 years prior to 9/11? Mind you I am asking world wide, not just the US.

I am looking this up...... From what I can tell....


14 hijackings in the 90s world wide. one of which was a US plane from Memphis that the hijacker was planning to fly it in to a building full of people. FedEx HQ.

6 hijackings from 2000 till march of 2001

Then 9/11 happened.

0 hijacking world wide from 9/11 till sometime in 2006

10 hijackings from 2006 till now

Most of the 10 sense 9/11 were forced to land or the crew an passengers subdued the hijacker.

There is supposedly a bomb with all plastic parts I read about recently that had TSA a little concerned.
