I have 4 birds from tsc. Only the silkie is named(volta). They're all from the bantam mix tsc sells. Once they finish feathering I was planning on getting them introduced to my coop. The sooner the better as currently I just have a pair. As they are getting closer tho I feel like I should figure out who the males are? If I introduce them to my coop will my rooster try to kill any baby roos? Or do I have until they reach sexual maturity until fighting starts. I'm building multiple coops but obviously while I only have a few birds it would be better to keep them together. If I need pics of something specific let me know. I also have day old pics
These are my guesses
Brown(partridge cochin?/female based on the fact it feathered super fast)
White(white cochin?/male based on reddish combs)
Gray(blue silkie? Possibly black but looks pretty blue to me./male, feathering reallll slow, my friend said probably a roo 🤷‍♀️)
Black(black cochin?/ Male? It was the last bird to stay developing feathers.)
I don't actually know if they're all cochin. I have a friend who acts like every feather footed bird is a cochin or a silkie. Silkie has 5 toes so that's an easy one. The brown one could be a bantam brahma?, I can't remember which but as chicks one of them looked like a dorking chick. But now they don't resemble any adult dorkings I've found.

To young still to sex. Though I'll throw my vote in. I think the first 2 (the black spotted one & white one) are roosters.
The terrifying part is I was told the slowest featherers were usually roosters, and both the ones you just voted for were feathered more than the other two over a week ago. 😬 Maybe they're all roos 😭

The only quiet ones are the white one and the black one. But I think the black one is just quiet because my husband coddles it. The black one is the most ornery

We just got 5 unsexed Bantams from TSC too. Hoping for some hens. I know 2 of ours are Silkies for sure. They got 5 toes but the other 3 are a mystery.

This post is a bit older so you may know by now, but FWIW my bantam cochin had a big comb like that early on. I was convinced I had a cockerel, but turned out to be a pullet! I think they have earrlier combs on average than other bantam breeds, the trick is if they start turning red early.

So here is a picture of 2 I believe are the same breed but ones comb is turning red and has bits of bumps the others is yello and has one unicorn horn. Lol
