Talk to Kevin Porter about my order and I feel much better!! He said the variation is so crazy with the penciled and to just give it time. Ahhh, but I am so impatient and eager to see them feather out!!! They are super fun, cute babies.
In hopes I might get more of the ones I already ordered (and Kevin said he would try) I put in for an assorted order of 15 more (my boyfriend is thrilled, haha). Right now assorted orders are $5 per poult. Can't beat that![]()
Right?! I couldn't resist. I figure maybe I can get a few mor of the varieties I need, or some fun new ones I wouldn't have thought to get and I can sell the others and easily make my money back.Today I saw Kevin has poults on sale for 5.00 each. That's a heck of a deal!
I'm glad you got some reassurance! I have had good dealings with Kevin Porter and I do believe he does his best. I can attest to variation in the penciled, my pp have a lot of variability.
His end of the season specials are quite a deal if you aren't picky about variety. He usually has a pre-order discount as well, I think in August or Sept for next year. You will have to let us know what you end up with in the assortment. When do you expect to get them?
Where are these guys from Will they be your Thanksgiving turkeys? We have 3 BBW and I have them freeranging the entire backyard at this point and offer feed very limited (20%) to slow their growth by Thanksgiving. They are already 10 or so week old I think. They were the right age for my son to take to fair, which means Franken-turkey for thanksgiving I am afraid lol. This is our first year with the broad Breasted.
Quote: I ordered them from Purely Poultry as they were the only ones I could find to take a small order. I will keep a couple for spring and probably one for Thanksgiving. I might sale some for Thanksgiving. I am going to free range these and feed lightly a couple of the bronze are already huge! 4 months is a good age for these for dinner.![]()
I hope your son wins at the fair!![]()
