Turkey Talk for 2014

I put my 2 week old Cornish X broilers out four days ago because I couldn't tolerate them in the baby brooder indoors. Nasty things...

They were bedded in deep straw in a rabbit hutch for two nights, light straw last night, open wire tonight. Temps are ranging from 20s-50s and they have been fine. I'll go out around 11 and if they seem distressed I'll toss some straw in.

I check in here every now and then. I don't have much to say, but I'm learning.

Hi robncindy I don't know anyone that can tell what they are that young. Unless you see one strut. It usually takes 3-4 months to be able to tell from their legs or the snood. The toms legs will be thicker and have a longer snood. I do know that even hatcheries will not vent sex a poult.
