Twisty Kats on animal plantets Weird True and Freaky

Ok.. Im gonna play here..
The Miniature horses do have a dwaf gene that breeders try to breed out. The chickens that are bred for fast gains are those that are termanal.. or made for slaughter, thus are normally dead by the hands of humans before they are dead of heart attacks.
These cats are not in a breeding program trying to breed out the deformaty, or a "termal" breed ment for slaughter.
They have to be hand carried to food and litter

As for the deaths.. Ya.. she has claimed for years that neighbors kill and steal her cats. When they are all locked in the house, I find that hard to beleive. If you haven't been there you would think she allows these cats to run out side. They can't run out side.. they can't run. The only way they are mobile is scooting along the baseboards to hold them up. No base boards.. cats can't move. seriously.. HUGE diffrance.

It may be desirable to some people but it is completely unfair and cruel to the cat. As for the miniature horses and chickens..at least they live a normal life..they can eat and drink on their own and get around without struggling. I don't agree with the miniature horse breeders breeding the dwarfs either. They have all kinds of health issues and conformation issues...so they are no better than this breeder. I am sorry but to put an animals through what this person has, is just cruel..there is no way around no matter what excuse you can find.

Repulsive is the first word that comes to mind. That being said, it is no different than the person breeding naked chickens and the desire others have for them.
The truth is we live in a world that isn't satisfied by the same things it used to be and as long as people continue to want rare items, someone will find a way to deliver.

It is different though. These cats have to be carried to their food, water and litter box. They are walking on the outsides of their legs. If a chick was hatched out like that, most would cull because it would probably never live a normal life. I am not saying that if one was accidentally born like that they should cull it, but breeding something knowing that it has a deformity and cannot live a normal life is just not right.

I do agree, however, that as long as people continue to want rare items, someone will find a way to deliver...and that is a sad in this case.

From http://www.guidehorse.org/miniature_horse_history.htm

"The earliest history of miniature horses was in the 1650 AD records of the Palace at Versailles where King Louis XIV (The Sun King) kept a vast Zoo, replete with unusual animals, including tiny horses.

Because miniature horses were bred exclusively for size, dwarf traits became common in the breed, especially in the United States. When compared to a full-sized horse, miniaturized horses have huge heads, short necks and other conformational flaws attributable to breeding dwarfism traits. Many believe that the deliberate introduction of dwarf horses (e.g. Bond Tiny Tim) into miniature horse bloodlines makes almost all miniature horses exhibit some dwarf characteristics. That’s why they are so small."

The miniature horse was a result of intentionally breeding a deformed animal in order to transfer that deformity to the next generation. That deformity was a desirable trait to some so they kept breeding them. While some of these deformed horses were useful in mines and other cramped spaces, anymore the deformity is strictly aesthetic.

Attempts to breed the undesirable dwarf traits out of the horses is being done business purposes only. A lame or dying horse does not sell.

Meat birds that are intentionally cross bred to have a super growth rate and that may be beneficial to us but it is detrimental to the bird. An accidental bird of this breeding would never survive to reproduce. The legs and heart are too weak to handle the fast growth.

The fact we kill them before many of them have the chance to die from their deformity does not change the fact that we are intentionally breeding a deformity. Our only saving grace is the fact we are breeding them for food, not pets.

The only difference between her and us is our higher standard of what is acceptable.

For the record anyone that intentionally breeds a deformed animal in order to gain attention is a sick individual.
