I guess so! We do have eight people living in this house along with a dog who eats egg shellsLooks like lots of quiche & omelets this week!
So I have eight hens, I got seven eggs yesterday, it’s the middle of winter in Alaska, and I get 13 eggs today? What’s up with that?

Nope! I get them from the coop everyday, got seven yesterday13!? Did you miss them from devious days?
EEs are so amazingI love my EEs. They’re mixed that we’re on sale in tractor supply and they have hair……. They’re Easter eggers of some sort tho
Awwwv that’s aloottt of eggs though! They used to do that when they were free ranging but they hate the snow so they refuse to leave the coop
My family doesn’t do that, too cold for them to want to go out, I don’t put in enough hay for them too hide them in the nesting boxes, also yeah around egg shelf wasn’t any less empty then it was beforeI have read of chickens occasionally laying a second egg in a given day (new-layer glitch), but it's pretty rare. Having 5 hens all do it on the same day seems VERY unlikely!
So if you are sure the eggs could not have been hidden in the nestbox from previous days, I suggest you check how many eggs were in your house-- someone might have played a prank by taking some eggs back out to the nests.
CHICKEN MATH, cheers!!!We just love when that happensSo I have eight hens, I got seven eggs yesterday, it’s the middle of winter in Alaska, and I get 13 eggs today? What’s up with that?
I have three Easter eggers, two cuckoo Maran mixes, two cinnamon queens and one black sex-link, the black sex-link is about 3 years old, the Marans were hatched in may and the others in marchThirteen?! Oh my! What breeds are your hens?
