Weird things only poultry people get.

Yeah, the spurs, toe nails, and beak are uniquely non-teddy bear, never mind the very strong flapping wings in the face... and then there is their unique ability to step in a pile of fresh droppings just before you pick them up for any reason...:lau
Now, how did you know exactly what my Eclipse acts like?
Of course, he has a fancy crest, so he can't see the droppings, I suppose....

New story:

I was locking up my chickens for the night when my neighbors came over. They watched me and just stared at the roost bar the chickens sleep on. Then one of them said this: “ Where are their beds? Why are you forcing them to sleep on the stick? Isn’t that animal abuse?”

I just laughed a bit and finished locking the birds up. I then sent them a link for an article about why chickens roost. I didn’t want to waste my time explaining it.
I... what. No... animals don't have beds... they have nests and roosts and dens... not beds....
As cute as that would be, they don't have beds....

Mine do.
I have chicks sleeping in a box in my room. Well they found their wings.
And they found out that a bed is nice to sleep in and poop on.
Thankfully I took precautions and covered my bed just in case....

But don't forget to store them at the right temp.
You want a girl Walmart, not a boy Walmart. And definitely no crocs.
I dunno, I kind of like crocs.
But I like my life more, so, yeah, no crocs.
Can I get a Market Basket instead, actually? Bantam sized? I like their sushi.

Is that a Buff Orpington? Or a Buff Cochin? Or something else? Is the other an SLW? I am practicing my breed identification.

looks like a buff orp and slw. a thing I always do with my chickens is I interpret their noises/behavior, and when they do something, I know if they're thirsty, cold, or want their friends. My friends think I'm a chicken mind reader, and when I tell them "She's thirsty/cold/lonely," they're like "You don't get to decide when a chicken's thirsty or cold" or "You don't know anything about taking care of chickens" when they've never had chickens themselves :lau:gig
