Good luck! it sounds like fun but my wife is terrified of birds and it was a stretch just getting her used to chickens. She loves the chickens now so hopefully in the future i can see if she'll go for an emu.

Wow, I'm jealous. I have come very close to getting some, but chickened out. My wife would freak out. Believe me, she would like to disable my Ebay account lol. I really don't have an area to keep them either. I hope they all hatch for you.

ok my wife was flipping the eggs today and she took them out of the incubator . she said they were heavy andthey feel warm(like they make heat not just retain it). so we think all is good .
Sjisty are u incubating the eggs now?

I tried 7 Emu eggs this last spring.....the female was very sick and my neighbor who owned them did not know she was when she was collecting eggs for me to hatch. None hatched sadly...very sadly and the female passed. She is on the look out for a new girl so we can try it again....the hard part is waiting for the girl to mature to give up some eggs!

we had a glitch yesterday !
the incubators fan quit! and the temp looked like it droped to 86. and we were not able to replace the fan til the next day . so that's approximately 24 hours without the fan.
but i don't think it is possible for the temp to drop that as much because the controller keeps the temp within .2 degrees . the eggs are scheduled to hatch on the 17th .
so is this a big deal or will my hatching date be delayed?
if the temp did drop to 86 will the eggs be damaged?
