Went to Wal-Mart...and got Mira! Getting clipped!

Trust me, the kitten seemed so lifeless. She was cold, stiff and there was no breathing activity. Some of the people were really upset about it. Apparently they found the mother about 2 days ago and a customer said that they wanted her. Didn't show any signs of kittens recently at all. They heard the biggest one "mewling" and investigated.

Little gal made it through the night! She's drinking about 4.5cc every 4 hours. That's not bad, right? I'm going to get some mineral oil and some cotton balls today. I don't think the Viva paper towels are rugged enough for her needs. She is still peeing very well though! We're going to have to do a 4 hour schedule as that's when she wakes up and because that's all we can do today. I can't take her to work with me. So she's fed, peed and sleeping as we speak!

I figure this is a good trial run before we have kids in the distant future.

I agree..

I'm so glad that you made the decision to take this little one.

How about "Phoenix" for a name?
A phoenix is a mythical bird that is a fire spirit with a colorful plumage and a tail of gold and scarlet (or purple, blue, and green according to some legends). It has a 500 to 1000 year life-cycle, near the end of which it builds itself a nest of twigs that then ignites; both nest and bird burn fiercely and are reduced to ashes, from which a new, young phoenix or phoenix egg arises, reborn anew to live again.

Am I the only one who instantly thought you should name her Zombie?

Or Dawn..as in Dawn of the Dead (movie).
Or maybe Alice, like Alice from Resident Evil who has super powers.

Sorry...I'm not quite awake yet.

Just a thought: If the baby was abandoned for while (I think I read 2 days?) Could that be why she hasn't pooped yet? Nothing in the stomache to produce the poops. I could be wrong since I have never dealt with kittens before they were 8 weeks old.

Either way good luck with your new baby!

She is going to be a beautiful cat! Glad you warmed her up before tossing her! There's a saying in the vet clinic: "It's not dead until it's WARM and dead!"
