Title says it all. I guess not only for crafters.

What are you making food wise? and costumes? Pumpkins? decorations? come on spill the beans and give us all some ideas.

My daughter wants to be a ballerina, so I'm working on a tutu - we collected some pretty white duck feathers today, washed and dyed pink with food coloring, somehow they're going to get ON the tutu (when I figure that out - tips needed!!)

I would weave the quill tip into the mesh of the tutu and then hot glue gun it, but make sure the pointy part doesn't poke your kid in the middle, or maybe cut the tip? Good luck - it's sounds real cute, I'm sure you will post a pic of it when you're done?

My daughter wants to be a vampire....have to figure out that costume. (She is older but its a small town, very tolerant, she and her friends still go trick or treating.)
Other than that we usually make a scarecrow,(lots of innovative ideas there!) carve pumpkins in all sorts of weird designs(last year one was a spider in a web) and put up the decoration of a witch running into a tree. Its also the time of year great for pumpkin soup.

My feathers have dried and are lovely soft pink, some are darker - I added a drop of blue... really pretty.

I'll get pic's for sure.
Thanks for the idea luna, I thought of getting like cord, and gluing the feathers all the way down the cord, I'd make a few and then sew the cord into the waist-band, so they'd hang down over the skirt.

As far as treats, I'm always at a loss, I hate candy and junk like that - and my kids always get BUCKET loads which I have to try sneak out the house.

Oh for a vampire you need to try get that big high collar going, I'm sure you could make it easy enough with wire and then glue fabric over it (like you would to make wings)

I need to figure out how I roasted pumpkin seeds a few years ago - my kids GOBBLED them up - but I don't remember how I did it - I think I used Soy sauce or something (that could have been for the Almonds)... I'll have to look around and see if anything rings a bell.
