What are you making for HALLOWEEN?

I came up with some sketches and decided to make pumpkin lanterns for Halloween. I'll post some pictures in a couple of weeks after I pull them out of the kiln!

We do to! My boss thought it would be fun to do country music folks. My boss is gonna be Waylon Jennings and I'm gonna be Willie Nelson, and I think our other cowhand is gonna be Johnny Cash. Now where to find the braided wig...

Good will might have one.

I think I might be a chicken. I have a chicken mask and chicken feet left over from past revelries during the Bavarian Festival in Frankenmuth, MI. I could wear overalls, a plaid shirt, and white gloves with the mask and feet.

I'm an adult, but I still like dressing up when passing out candy to the kids that come by. I think the city kids would freak if they were met at my door by a giant chicken!

I saw an adult's chicken costume at Target.
I am making an Indiana Jones style jacket for my son. I will use a pattern for a 50s greaser's jacket but I found distressed looking synthetic leather at Walmart. It's not heavy stuff so it shouldn't be too hard to sew. He's already got a hat and whip and can wear pants and shoes he already has.
I usually make a Halloween themed dinner for that night but this year my son will have gymnastic until 5:00 and we've got a half hour ride home. I'll have to plan in advance to pull it off.

This will our first year here at this house and I have no idea what to expect. I can tell you the neighbor has a lot of destructive teens and we live on a curve that is VERY accident ridden. Thankfully, the people across the street get hit and not us. Oh wait, no thankfully!!! sHEESH I meant I am glad it's not us.

Went to the fabric store today to get stuff for my dd's costume. I flipped through the pattern books and let her pick what she wanted. She started with mermaid...I thought it looked way to cold for 2.5 year old...then she wanted to be this faerie with capris and a tank top-cold....then she settled on Dorothy from Wizzard of Oz. I guess I'd better get to work on it. Maybe she can wear tights under it. Hmmmmm....

I made dorothy from wizzard of os for my granddaughter last year (same age as yours is now) We got those dance outfits that are flesh colored with the flesh colored tights and that works for extra warmth. We got the red glitter shoes for like $5 at walmart they might still have them as they have been there 2 years straight. Have fun.

If I could find a pattern, I would LOVE to make a flying monkey costume for my black pug. I think she looks like a monkey anyway, so why not go with it? I can't make one that is too detailed or requires super sewing skills. Just the basics is all I can do, lol.
