I saw the pic of those beets!!!! I’m happy for you, I love borscht but the wild rabbits ate my beets! There was one big one I cooked anyhow. Those few bites sure were good!I'm making borscht with mostly stuff from the allotment.
I'll be making this when my potatoes harden off. Not sure the leeks are going to make it this year, I planted late.I made leek and potato soup from my garden leeks. This year they seem to be bolting so I’ve been chopping and freezing them as soon as iss see a flower stalk. We also had kale and chard cooked together.
Great in curries.Okra is often a love or hate vegetable. We love it. Understanding the different ways it can be prepared is a must for some of us. We like it fried, simmered on top of field peas, pickled, cooked with tomatoes and onion, any way but raw.
Can you believe I’ve never made borsch? Lol! I have a ton of beets this year so it might be reason to attempt it.I don't know what I'm doing on this thread, I detest cooking.
However, since I've grown the stuff I'll have to make some exceptions.
There are many ways to make it but we like it with beef soup bones. Can you believe I’ve never made borsch? Lol! I have a ton of beets this year so it might be reason to attempt it.
