wayne seriously , he took vacations with those individuals, he did a little more than sit across from them in a board room. and a few attend that church or whatever it is with him and that "pastor"

I DON'T SUPPORT ETHIER!!!!!
I VOTE NONE OF THE ABOVE!

If we're going to discuss Pastor Wright (and certainly, people should), then I believe that makes Palin's pastor, not to mention the witch doctor who laid hands on her, fair game. Imagine if that stoning scenario had been played out in a local suburb instead of a distant African village--sounds a lot crazier in that context, doesn't it? If we're going to get bent out of shape about William Ayers, then we should also be outraged at the Palins' association with the AIP (whose founder said, among other lovely things, "I've got no use for America or her d***ed institutions," and "The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government." This man was murdered during an explosives purchase gone bad. Terrorist? Most certainly. Relevant? Well, what's fair for the goose, and all that.

Or what of McCain's association with convicted and imprisoned ex-felon G. Gordon Liddy? McCain has had a fundraiser in Liddy's home, and has appeared more than once on his radio show, where he said, "I'm proud of you, I'm proud of your family. It's always a pleasure for me to come on your program, Gordon, and congratulations on your continued success and adherence to the principles and philosophies that keep our nation great."

Like I said before, there's enough of this kind of thing to go around. MORE than enough, on both sides. Which is why I'd prefer to just stick to the issues at hand. Read the platforms and the plans--REALLY read them--and vote your conscience accordingly. Time wasted railing against others for their choices is just that: wasted. No one here is going to change anyone else's mind, so why should we just keep trashing the policies that each other find important? The issue that is dear to me may not matter at all to you, and vice-versa. And that's completely OK, and does not diminish ME in the least, nor do my convictions diminish you.

We really CAN all get along...and usually do. Election years have the ability to bring out the worst in even the best of people.

He wasn't only eight years old when the guy was active, he launched his political career in Ayer's livingroom. I understand you are under Nobama's spell, but please, stop posting your own inaccuracies to try to make him look better.

The fact that so many are willing to ignore Nobama's obvious anti-American tendencies absolutely amazes me. The man is backed by the likes of George Soros. He wants the great One World Order. Look where globalization has got us right now!

If I wanted to live in a socialist country I'd move to one. The United States of America is in danger here, of sliding into socialism.

How I wish Ron Paul had a chance.....

d.k :

* 3 times zero is STILL zero-- regardless of the rest of the ad. All I am pointing out really is how goofy political ads are. . . .

My point was that the ad did NOT state "three times zero." You extrapolated that from two different things: the "zero" attributed to "a hundred million families," and then, separately, "three times more tax relief for the middle class." The "hundred million families" were not put forth as "middle class" families.

It's just faulty logic, taking the former to mean the latter, is all. No offense, and at that point I was NOT arguing the merits/flaws of either candidate.

If I were going to take issue with this particular ad, it would be the part about tax cuts to "oil companies," which, a little deceptively, makes it sound as if tax cuts were granted specifically to oil companies, which isn't the case. Oil companies certainly benefited from the tax cuts in question, but they certainly weren't the only ones. So while that line is technically "true," it's also misleading, in a way.

Which is why I say, again, read the platforms/plans. Everything is spelled out there. Don't get your information on EITHER candidate from their ads. Please.

Yes, this is the kind of thing I was talking about. We should respect each other's choices and convictions even when we disagree. I haven't seen anyone here referring to the Republican ticket as McCain't/Failin', at least not until just now, sorry. Just making a point.

I've noticed a particularly humorous thing lately. If a Democrat looks for a way of helping all Americans get affordable health care, then it's the end of the world, we're all becoming "socialists." If a Republican adminsitration borrows to the breaking limit of my grandchildren's credit cards and then practically nationalizes the banks to protect them from their bad judgement, reckless behavior and criminal activity, it's "economic recovery."

Thank you, I think I'm beginning to see the difference.
